A Bond Street jeweller had problems with trade customers who were dissatisfied with the service offered by their wholesale division. To regain the confidence of the retailers it was important to demonstrate that there was now a real understanding of the needs of the retailers. At the same time, it was important to ensure that there was no discounting of their products. 
Therefore, to assist the sell out of the products, five important strategies were introduced. 
Firstly, all salesmen were taught to carry out in-shop training. This took place at the end of the working day and they were given a budget to buy food and drink.
